Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo reiterates its commitment to the environment and community by once again achieving the certification for Sustainable Tourism in Costa Rica (CST), this time in the Elite Level. The hotel was certified for the first time in 2016. Since then, the programs to protect the environment and help the community have evolved and Andaz has successfully achieved the Elite Level rating through rigorous re-certification every two years.
The CST program of the Costa Rican Tourism Chamber is designed to differentiate tourism companies according to the degree to which their operations approach a model of sustainability in the management of natural, cultural and social resources. The award is granted by the National Accreditation Commission, which is based in Costa Rica.
Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo stands out for having an excellent biological and physical environment, plus sustainability programs and various efforts toward environmental protection. The hotel is being recognized for the efficiency of its internal processes in the management of waste and the use of technologies for saving electricity and water.

With this recognition, the resort has highlighted its design of a tourism product in line with the trends of the industry, efforts that reflect the rich culture of the country and the region of Guanacaste. Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo is also being recognized for inviting its guests to participate in these sustainability policies.
The resort by far exceeds the identification and interaction with adjacent communities, showcasing the extent to which the resort responds to the growth and development of the region through job creation and various benefits for the community.
