Seven Costa Rican muralists were carefully selected to create a mural that features the country’s culture and natural wonders, embodying in each brushstroke their own unique artistic style. These muralists work and dedicate their lives to art and design showcasing an outstanding portfolio and numerous national and international projects.
“Our concept was to create a place where people can go and connect with art and with each other, an interactive experience. An open space for the artist to engage our guests in the Costa Rican cultural scene, surrounded by nature and wildlife ” said General Manager Adam Zilber.
The first phase of the project, located at the family pool, launched in November 2021 and will be completed in January 2022. Ian Sowl, Sebas Ayala, Byron Balmaceda, Kevin Henry, Nela Snow and Claudio Corrales’s work will welcome the guests visiting for the Festive Season. Elizabeth Arguello will complete the first phase during the first weeks of 2022.
The adults-only pool will feature the second phase of the project and the room buildings will welcome the third wave of artists who will fill with color a variety of selected areas.
While working on the mural the artists truly are “in residence” living at the hotel so they are free to work whenever the inspiration strikes. Our guests can enjoy this creativity live, not only by watching the artists’ work, but also by enjoying a series of cocktails that promote this connection between the artist, the guest and the environment.
The project will be refreshed every year, making sure to always offer new experiences and keep up with the local cultural scene.
