Ostra pays homage to the rich culinary traditions of Southeast Asia. While tradition is at the heart of our menu, some dishes are reimagined, blending local ingredients with Southeast Asian staples to create something familiar yet distinct. Within Ostra discover Perla, our sushi bar, which highlights the freshest local catch.

Ostra

Following a transformative redesign, Ostra presents a contemporary dining experience rooted in the bold flavors of Southeast Asia, seamlessly blended with local ingredients. The open-air restaurant features a cocktail lounge and a terrace overlooking Culebra Bay.

Discover Perla, our sushi bar, showcasing the freshest local catch, available everyday based on product availability.

Rise & Vibe breakfast will be available from 6:30 am to 10:30 am for all guest from March 9th to April 10th.

Chao Pescao

Chao Pescao offers open terraces, tall wooden ceilings and a warm and lively atmosphere. Indulge in a tapas menu that will embark you into a journey through Latin America and the Caribbean.

 If you are looking for a bar for a pre or post dinner drink, Chao is your place. In addition to a creative mixology menu, the beverage list features extensive Central American liquors and Costa Rican craft beers.

Gaio

Gaio is a trattoria where southern Italian comfort food meets feel-good creativity.  Offering familiar dishes with a playful twist—made for sharing among family and friends, built for laughter and meant to be remembered.

Meso

Unwind in our new beachfront oasis and prepare to delight in an innovative blend of vibrant Mediterranean flavors with a touch of Mesoamerican influence, complemented by refreshing tropical renditions of classic Mediterranean cocktails.

La Piazza

Visit our fun and casual “pop up” Italian restaurant located at El Patio, just steps from the lobby. Whether you are craving a wood-fired pizza, a bowl of pasta or just want to enjoy an aperitivo before dinner, La Piazza offers something for everyone. This restaurant is ideal for large families seeking a relaxed dining experience.

Born in Argentina, Chef Matías Coullery brings a wealth of culinary expertise shaped by his journey across South America and Europe. His career spans prestigious kitchens in Argentina, Uruguay, and Peru, as well as Michelin-starred experiences in Bilbao and other vibrant European culinary destinations. Now overseeing the resort’s culinary program, his vision is to elevate every moment at the table—where technique meets innovation, and local ingredients shine in harmony with global flavors.

Born in Costa Rica, Chef Sergio has a deep love for local ingredients. His culinary journey has been shaped by experience working for luxury resorts throughout different parts of Costa Rica and transformational travel throughout Italy. Chef Sergio aims to create lasting culinary experiences, bringing joy and passion as essential ingredients to his menus at Gaio, the resort’s largest restaurant.

Having led kitchens at Moskito Island and Necker Island, Sir Richard Branson’s private retreats, as well as luxury brands like Mandarin Oriental and Grand Hyatt, he is known for his ability to blend tradition with innovation. Now at Ostra, he reimagines Southeast Asian cuisine, honoring its rich flavors while integrating the finest Costa Rican ingredients. 

 

With a deep respect for technique and authenticity, his vision elevates Ostra into a destination where bold flavors, thoughtful craftsmanship, and immersive dining come together.

Always in nature, always movement

Active programming for adventurous teens and adults, these experiences take advantage of our 1,400-acre natural playground. Nomads’ Base Camp is located at ONDA spa and includes multiple “Nature Domes” for movement and relaxations immersed in the tropical forest. Additional experiences are offered at the Outpost, Casa de Playa, the golf and tennis center and on Costa Rica’s famous waves with SurfX.
